Chase Thornhill is a charismatic and enthusiastic individual on and off the stage, believing that music is one of the most rewarding experiences to ever exist. Furthermore, he believes that the musical process is open to anyone AND everyone!
Chase plays trombone, euphonium, trumpet, and tuba, and teaches beginner to intermediate vocal technique!
Chase has playing experience in various fields including professional orchestras, wind ensembles, jazz bands, and a plethora of chamber groups. He also possesses great experience playing in brass band ensembles and has soloed and played lead trombone in countless brass ensembles.
His vocal expertise focuses on the bridging of instrumental and vocal music, believing that they go hand in hand and that musicians do not need to focus on just instrumental or just vocal.
Chase has a strong passion for teaching, spending most of his summers teaching at music institutes and other music camps offered across the country. Chase has also spent time as the band director for the Burns Middle School band program as well as being the assistant band director for the high school program.
Chase currently attends the University of North Carolina School of the Arts working to achieve his Masters in Music Performance with a concentration on the Trombone. He plans to continue his professional aspirations of joining professional ensembles and spreading the love of music anywhere and everywhere he goes!
